For automatic complementary feeding of relatively large quantities of packages, in particular packets of cigarettes, to a packaging machine, in order to avoid adding by hand, the packages are automatically pushed, with the aid of a pusher (8), from a magazine (3) transversely onto a conveyor belt (9) and, after rotation through 90@ and individual separation, the packages are fed to the inlet side of a packaging machine by the said conveyor belt (9).
