PURPOSE:To make confirmation the surface of a keyboard unnecessary whenever an input is executed, by providing a means for generating a signal by only a touch of a part of the human body to the surface of a key of the keyboard, and displaying the corresponding character of the touch key on a specific area of a display device. CONSTITUTION:When an operator touches only the surface of one key 11 of a keyboard 1 with a finger, a touch sensing element 13 provided on the surface senses its touch and generates a sensing signal (d). A receiving circuit 23 transfers it to a matrix circuit 24. The matrix circuit 24 executes a retrieval of the key in which the sensing signal (d) has been generated. Now, when the key in which the sensing signal (d) is generated is decided to be a key corresponding to a character 'A', information of its fact is sent to a CPU 3. The CPU 3 displays the character 'A' on a specific area of a display device 4 by a display program which is held therein. In such a way, the picture can be confirmed easily, an input mistake is decreased, and also, the input time is shortened.
