PURPOSE:To perform inspection quantitatively and to facilitate and speed up the inspection by receiving plate waves from vibrators for transmission which are arranged in the same case at a constant distance by a vibrator for reception through the adhesion part of a sample, and inspecting the state of the adhesion part from the correlation between the height of the received echo and the adhesion length of the adhesion part. CONSTITUTION:The couple of vibrators 4a for plate wave transmission and the vibrator 4b for reception are arranged face to face in the same case 4c at constant distances to constitute a probe 4 (for plate wave). This probe 4 is brought into contact across the adhesion part 3 of a flange 1, and the vibrator 4a projects an ultrasonic wave so as to generate the plate wave 5 at the flange 1. This plate wave 5 is divided into a transmitted wave 6 which is propagated to a core 2 adhered at right angles through the adhesion part 3 and a received wave 7 which is propagated in the flange 1 as it is and received by the vibrator 4b. Then the adhesion state of the adhered part is inspected quantitatively with ease from the correlation between the height of the echo received by the vibrator 4b and the adhesion length of the adhesion part 3. |
