PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a highly rust-proof steel sheet pile by a method in which a given thickness of corrosion-resistant metal layer is formed on the surfaces of claws provided on both sides and a corrosion-resistant synthetic resin layer is formed on the surface of the body between the claws. CONSTITUTION:A metal rust-proof layer 3 of a thickness of 0.1-1.0 is formed on the surface of a claw 2 provided on both sides, and a corrosion-resistant synthetic resin layer 4 is also formed on the surface of the body 1 between both the claws 2. The use of the layer 3 enables one to eliminate the needs for corrosion-preventing work in field construction work without causing damage to the layer 3 when sheet piles are assembled and driven into the ground. Since expensive metal rust-proofing material is used only for the claws, effective anticorrosive layer can be formed at low cost on steel sheet piles.
