Band cutting and glueing installation has a section where the band ends overlap each other on a guide track; they are tensioned by attachment sliders arranged on either side of the cutting point, and are then cut through together by scissors and then fitted together by application of an adhesive strip. The scissors consist of an upper knife capable of swivelling around a turning axle extending on one side of the guide track and vertical to the length of the bands and of a rigid lower knife. Next to the lower knife is a ledge capable of swivelling on a parallel axle extending on the other side of the guide track. This arrangement ensures that the ledge with the scissor system open forms a closed stage with the lower knife and during the cutting process the upper knife can be pressed downwards against a return pressure whilst freeing the cutting edge of the lower knife. |
