PURPOSE:To obtain the titled particles useful as a cushioning material, etc., having high stability of cell size controlling effects, by suspending a block copolymer containing a specific polymer block in an aqueous medium, polymerizing a styrenic monomer and adding an organic blowing agent to the polymer. CONSTITUTION:0.001-1wt.% block copolymer containing (A) a polymer block of monovinyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon at both ends and (B) an elastomeric polymer block of saturated or unsaturated conjugated diene at the inner chain is dissolved in (C) a styrenic monomer and the solution is suspended in an aqueous medium. Then the component C is polymerized in suspension and (D) an organic blowing agent is added to the polymer or the polymer particles are impregnated with the component D after polymerization process to give the aimed particles. The component B is preferably styrene butadiene styrene block copolymer, etc.
