PURPOSE:To miniaturize the circuit scale by adopting the constitution such that an FM signal is generated by an adder and a storage element in place of a ROM of a conventional device. CONSTITUTION:An integration device 4 integrates a digital input signal and outputs an integration value using m-bit as one word and an adder 5 adds sequentially the integration value. A register 6 using n-bit (n>m) adds and stores the output value of the adder 5, extracts the content of the most significant bit as an output and is reset in the case of overflow. The content of the most significant bit is sent as the output when the most significant bit is '1' till the content overflows and is reset. The output signal is a trapezoidal wave signal applying frequency modulation to the input signal.
