<p>PURPOSE:To improve the compression rate of data by collating not only with a picture element on the same line as that to be processed but with the picture element on the preceding line, and executing processing. CONSTITUTION:Five adjacent picture elements on the identical line with the picture element for processing and the preceding line are decided whether colors differ from the picture element for processing. They are coded with position information showing the relative position of the picture element against the picture element for processing, if there are identical picture elements, and with color information of the picture element for processing itself if the picture element whose color is identical to the picture element for processing does not exist, and position information in the continuous picture elements having identical position information is added with information on the number of continuity and displayed. Thus, the quantity of data can be compressed.</p> |
