PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device, and also, to realize a low power consumption, and to reduce an azimuth loss of a head at the time of recording and reproduction, by placing a head for recording and reproducing an information signal to and from a recording medium, in the shortest link (the third link) in a double lever mechanism of what is called a quadric crank chain. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reproducing the image information from a floppy disk 11, when a first link 2 and a second link 3 execute a reciprocating angular motion as levers, a magnetic head 6 placed in a third link 4 being the shortest link executes linearly a reciprocating motion along roughly a reference straight line A in the radial direction of the floppy disk 11. In such a way, an azimuth loss can be reduced by a short link, and as a result, the whole of a head feeding device 1 can be miniaturized, and also, a low power consumption can be further realized.
