PURPOSE:To omit enlargement of an address conversion table even when a logical address is extended by providing a register to show the page number information stored in an address conversion table. CONSTITUTION:A mask register 216 has the number of bits equal to the number of pages shown in the page numbers of a logical address and has a bit corresponding to the number of the page stored in an address conversion table 217 set at '1'. The entries of the table 217 are arranged in the order of younger page numbers. Then the entry numbers of the table 217 are produced from the page numbers of the logical addresses to be converted and the value of the register 216. Based on these entry numbers, the real page addresses are read out of the table 217. Thus it is not required for the table 217 to contain the entries corresponding to all pages shown in the page numbers of the logical addresses.
