PURPOSE:To record rotated picture information on an optical recording medium and to facilitate the handling of a vertical and a horizontal type images, by judging a prescribed angle of rotation with the angle of rotation of the picture information inputted with an arbitrary angle of rotation being stored in a storage means, and rotating the picture information in the storage means with a judged angle of rotation. CONSTITUTION:The picture information read by a scanner 20 of a device is stored in the display memory 15 of a memory module 10, and the prescribed angle of rotation of the picture information is judged with the angle of rotation stored in the module 10 at a control module 10. And the angle of rotation of the picture information stored in the memory 15 is rotated to the prescribed angle of rotation at the vertical/horizontal conversion circuit 35 (rotary means) of an image processing module 30 with the angle of rotation of the picture information judged at the module 10. The picture information rotated with the angle of rotation is stored in a page memory 14, and stored picture information is recorded on a recording medium in an optical disk device 22 by the control of the module 10.
