2,2'-Dibenzofuryl cpds. of formula (I) in which R1 and R2 are H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, hydroxy, amino-alkyl, etc., are made by (a) reacting a 2,2'-dibenzofuryl methyl ketone of formula (II) with a small molar excess of hydroxylamine hydrochloride in aq. alcoholic medium in presence of a sufficient amt. of alkali hydroxide, under reflux for 2-4 hours; (b) pption. of the oxime formed by evaporation under reduced pressure, and cooling; and (c) redn. to the corresp. amine and purificn. by crystallisation when the basic structures are oily.
