PURPOSE:To provide the titled instrument of inexpensive constitution by segmenting the inside of a vessel to two chambers by a pore partition wall membrane consisting of a vitelline membrane or shell membrane and packing aq. electrolyte solns. of different concns. into the respective chambers. CONSTITUTION:A communicating hole 3 is bored to the central peripheral wall of an inside cylinder 2 and the shell membrane or vitelline membrane 4 is attached to cover the aperture of the hole 3 by a frame body formed of a transparent synthetic resin and a bolt 8 made of a synthetic resin. No metals are used to these parts. The aq. electrolyte solns. of different concns. are respectively filled in a 1st chamber 6 and the 2nd chamber 7. Since many fine pores are opened in the shell membrane or vitelline membrane 4, the aq. electrolyte solns. penetrate in the other chamber and generate the potential corresponding to a concn. difference. The potential between the two aq. electrolyte solns. is measured by a potentiometer for which a calomel electrode, not shown, in figure is used. |
