<p>A thin layer (1.5-12mm thick) of an elastic adhesive, comprising a copolymer of a conjugated diene, a vinyl monomer and an ethylenically unsatd, monocarboxylic acid is applied, to the horse's hoof and then the horseshoe is applied. This technique has two advantages, namely no nails are used and therefore the horses' hooves are not split and secondly, this layer acts as a shock absorber thus preventing shock of impact weakening the horse's leg. Furthermore no lateral sliding of the horseshoe occurs with this adhesive.</p> |
