发明名称 POWER SUPPLY DEVICE FOR WIRE ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the machining efficiency and the availability and to enable highly accurate machining, by providing a fusing section and a solidifying section for containing a low melting point alloy in a power supply case, and supplying power to a wire electrode through the low melting point alloy being held in fused condition. CONSTITUTION:A fusing section 4 and a solidifying section 5 for containing a low melting point alloy 8 are arranged in a power supply case 3 in the traveling direction of a wire electrode 1, then temperature gradient is set toward the solidifying section 5 and power is fed to the wire electrode 1 through the low melting point alloy 8 being held in fused condition. Consequently, the contact area is increased to enable supply of large current thus improving electric discharge machining efficiency considerably. Since large part of the low melting point alloy 8 contacting with the wire electrode 1 is fused or semi-solidified, frictional force is quite low and replacing frequency due to abrasion is reduced considerably thus improving the availability remarkably. Furthermore, lateral pressure is not required for the wire electrode 1, thereby the wire electrode 1 is not distorded nor deformed thus enabling highly accurate machining.
