PURPOSE:To completely eliminate the residual charge on a photosensitive drum by erasing a charge electrified to the polarity opposite to the photosensitive drum by an electrification use corotron, after a jam processing, and thereafter, erasing a charge electrified to the forward polarity, by a destaticizing lamp. CONSTITUTION:When transfer paper 5 causes a jam, and a photosensitive drum 1 stops once and restarts thereafter, a transfer use corotron 6, and an electrification use corotron 3 hold a non-operating state and an operating state, respectively, and the drum 1 is rotated in the direction of a recording operation by an angle made by the corotron 3, the rotation center of the drum 1 and the corotron 6. Subsequently, the corotrons 3, 6 and a destaticizing lamp 7 hold a non-operating state and an operating state, respectively, and the drum 1 is rotated in the direction of a recording operation by an angle made by the corotron 3, the rotation center of the drum 1 and the lamp 7. In such a way, the residual charge on the drum 1 is eliminated completely, and the next recording operation can be started. |
