PURPOSE:To prevent the air invading from a carbon rod and to realize a secure sealing, by using a carbon rod impregnated with wax, heating the part of the carbon rod projecting from the upper surface of a positive electrode black mix to deposit the wax impregnated at the part, over the surface, and then cooling gradually to solidify the deposited wax. CONSTITUTION:A carbon rod 5 impregnated with wax is used, and after heating the part of the carbon rod 5 projecting from the upper surface of a positive electrode black mix 4 to deposit the wax impregnated at the part, over the surface, it is cooled gradually to solidify the deposited wax. Since the impregnated wax is separated over the surface of the carbon rod 5 when it is stored at a high temperature, if the melting point of the wax is lower than 45 deg.C, forming a contact resistance between the carbon rod 5 and the positive electrode black mix 4, and giving likely a bad influence on the discharge property of a cell, it is preferable to use a wax whose melting point is as high as possible. In such a composition, the upper surface of the carbon rod 5 is covered with a wax layer composed by such a deposition and a solidification, and a secure sealing can be realized even when the carbon rod 5 has some defect. |
