PURPOSE:To sufficiently reduce the variation processing of an area shape and to improve redistribution effect by performing expansion according to the comparison result between an in-charge area and a load and redistributing the load among respective brightness calculation parts. CONSTITUTION:The load on each brightness calculation part 3 is determined by a load determining means 43 and transferred to six adjacent brightness calculation part 3 through a mutual communicating means 31. Then, a direction determining means 44 selects the largest load among the load on those six calculation parts 3 and determines the connecting direction of the calculation part 3 having the largest load as the expanding direction of the in-charge area. Then the largest load is outputted to an expansion determining means 45 and the determined direction is outputted to an area expanding means 46. The means 45 compares the load determined by the means 43 with the largest load and determines whether or not the in-charge area is expanded in the direction of the in-charge area of the calculation part 3 having the largest load according to the comparison result. The means 46 varies the range of the in-charge area stored in an area information storage means 33 according to the determination of the means 45 to expand the in-charge area. |
