PURPOSE:To ensure that a surface on the upper side of a heat generating part is not recessed, a recording material is brought into close contact with a thermal recording head, an electrode is firmly adhered and insulation with high reliability is achieved, by providing signal electrodes and a common electrode respectively on different layers, and providing the signal electrodes or the common electrode with a laminate construction comprising a layer of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and a layer comprising at least one of molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum and nickel. CONSTITUTION:On an alumina insulating substrate 1, a silicon oxide glaze layer 2 is provided in a rectilinear form along a side edge of the substrate. On the substrate 1 and the glaze layer 2 is provided a common electrode 6 having a laminate construction comprising a lower layer 6a of aluminum and an upper layer 6b of molybdenum. Signal electrodes 4 of aluminum is provided on an insulating layer 8. In the vicinity of 8 heat generating part, the sectional construction is such that the common electrode 6 is provided on the glaze layer 2, while the signal electrodes 4 is provided on the insulating layer 8, and the common electrode 6 and the signal electrodes 4 are provided respectively on the lower side and the upper side of the insulating layer 8, so that a protective layer 7 is not recessed at the heat generating part 9. Thus, a recording paper 10 is brought into close contact with a thermal recording head thus obtained. |
