NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I {R<1>-R<3> are H, halogen trifluoromethyl, lower alkyl, lower cycloalkyl, nitro, amino, (substituted)phenyl, etc.; R<4> is H, lower alkyl or (di)aralkyl, R<6>-CO- [R<6> is lower alkyl, lower cycloalkyl, (substituted)phenyl, etc.], etc.} or acid addition salt thereof. EXAMPLE:9-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,4-ethano-1-azaacridine. USE:Useful as a remedy for senile dementia having excellent inhibitory action on acetylcholine esterase. PREPARATION:A 2-aminobenzonitrile derivative expressed by formula II, e.g. 2-amino-6-fluorobenzonitrile, etc., is reacted with a 3-quinuclidine expressed by formula III to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I (group R<4> is H).
