PURPOSE:To aim at miniaturization in a pitch angle altering mechanism, by making a pitch angle of a propeller blade so as to be alterable by transmitting rotation of a motor to a turning shaft via a planetary gear mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of a spindle 22 of a motor 15 is sharply decelerated by a planetary differential gear mechanism 16 and transmitted to a turning shaft 17. Rotation of this turning shaft 17 is converted into rectilinear mortion by a ball screw unit 18. Since this call screw unit 18 is clamped to a deflection shaft 3, if the ball screw unit 18 is slidingly moved in a first hollow shaft 7 with rotation of the turning shaft 17, this deflection shaft 3 is also slidingly moved in a hollow propeller shaft 2. Thus, a pitch angle of a propeller blade 4 is altered by movement of the deflection shaft 3.
