PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition improved in roll adhesion and stickiness in an unvulcanized state, by mixing a rubbery polymer comprising ethylene and an alpha-olefin and/or a conjugated diene with a specified polar group- containing pentadiene resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. conjugated double bond-containing five-membered ring compound (a) of the formula (wherein R is 1-3C alkyl, m and n are each 0 or >=1 and m+n=6), e.g., Diels-Alder adduct, is copolymerized with 1-200pts. wt. compound (b) containing a C-C double bond and a polar group selected from among OH, carboxyl, carboxylic anhydride group, ester, nitrile and aimed (e.g., allyl alcohol) at 150-300 deg.C for 10min-20hr, or 100pts.wt. component (a) is reacted with 1-200pts.wt. component (b) at 100-300 deg.C for 10min-20hr to obtain a polar group-containing cyclopentadiene resin (B). 0.5-30pts.wt. component B is added to 100pts.wt. rubbery polymer (A) comprising ethylene and an alpha-olefin and/or a nonconjugated diene. |
