NEW MATERIAL:A diterpene shown by formula I, formula II or formula III. USE:An antitumor agent. PREPARATION:Seed of Alpinia galanga sold on the market is extracted with methanol, an extract with methanol is incorporated with water and shaken with n-hexane. Then a fraction soluble in n-hexane is purified by chromatography to give two diterpenes having novel skeleton (galanal A and B) shown by formula I and formula II and a novel labdan type diterpene shown by formula III.
