PURPOSE:To reduce the frequency in recovery of a waste toner and to reduce the power consumption of a copying machine by arranging a heating means which heats and fuses the waste toner and supplying power to this means when the waste toner in a recovery vessel reaches a certain level and the load on the copying machine is light. CONSTITUTION:A waste toner level detecting means 8 is arranged in an exposure part facing a gap 7 of a recovery vessel 1. The output signal of this level detecting means 8 is inputted to a CPU 10 of the copying machine, and power supply to a heater 5 through a relay 9 is controlled by the heating control signal outputted from the CPU 10. An operating device 12 of a driving motor, an exposure lamp, a fixing heater, or the like is controlled through a driver 11 by the operating control signal from the CPU 10. Thus, a large quantity of waste toner is stored in the recovery vessel because the waste toner is melted to reduce the volume, and the power consumption is reduced because power is supplied to the heating means only when the waste toner reaches a certain level. |
