The stirrer is inclined to the bowl axis and is carried around by a head driven through a vertical tubular shaft by a first motor, whilst a second motor drives the stirrer about its inclined axis through a central inner shaft and gearing in the head. A scraper for the outer wall of the bowl is adjustable to lag behind the stirrer in either direction. An inner wall scraper is also provided, offset relative to the stirrer. A heating jacket surrounds the bowl.
