PURPOSE:To eliminate damage to a work roll and shocking torques, etc., to obtain a high quality uniform products by installing a device performing surface treatment to a joining part of the rear end part of the preceding hot rolled stock and the top end part of the succeeding hot rolled stock on the inlet side of a finishing rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The respective rear end part of the preceding stock and the top end part of the succeeding stock of intermittently rolled sheet bars by rough rolling mills 31, 32 are joined one after another by a joining device 24 movable in the stock travel direction. A joining part is swelled and oxidized scales are generated in a joining time, so that a device 7 is installed between the joining device and a hot finishing rolling mill group 33 to removed nonconforming parts of the joining part. Thus, generation of shocking torques and load variations at biting a joining part during the finishing rolling are eliminated. |
