PURPOSE:To prevent the contamination of information recording medium due to scattering, evaporation or flowout of grease by using a lubrication free rolling bearing to the mobile part of the radial direction mobile mechanism of an information recording and reproducing means. CONSTITUTION:Information is recorded on a magnetic film on a rotary magnetic disk 1 by a magnetic head 2. The head 2 is fixed to a magnetic head mobile mechanism 3 and moved by the torque of a voice coil motor 7 in the radial direction of the disk 1. The bearing 4 is a lubricant free ball bearing not using any lubricant and does not use any oil sealing. The entire mechanism is covered by a cover 9 so as to prevent the infiltration of external dust. Thus, in the case of recording/reproducing information to/from the recording medium, a malfunction caused by sticking of dust is decreased.
