PURPOSE:To easily and quickly produce a working program by displaying the working program with characters and pictures on a CRT screen. CONSTITUTION:Plural fundamental programs corresponding to preliminarily determined working fundamental patterns are preliminarily stored in a storage device. Plural working fundamental patterns corresponding to these stored fundamental programs are displayed as pictures on a screen 16a of a CRT 16. The working fundamental pattern resembling a working pattern is selected from these pictures to retrieve a specific fundamental program. When an actual working program is produced from this retrieved fundamental program, items to inform an operator of required working data to be inputted are displayed on the screen 16a by characters. Working data is inputted based on this display to produce the working program. Thus, the working program is easily and quickly produced.
