PURPOSE:To form with high accuracy two polarized light areas on the same substrate, and to obtain a polarizing plate which does not peel off and has a stable quality, by providing a minute linearly polarized light area having a prescribed polarizing direction, and a linearly polarized light area having a polarizing direction being orthogonal to the polarizing direction of said linearly polarized light area, on the same substrate. CONSTITUTION:A hardened part 3a of a photosensitive layer 3 is peeled off by using a solvent by which a polarizing film 5 is not dissolved, and a transparent polarizing element film 2b is exposed, and thereafter, a second polarizing element film 7 is formed in the direction being orthogonal to the drawing direction of the polarizing element film 2b, and a photoresist is applied again to the whole surface and dried,, by which a photosensitive layer 3 is formed. Subsequently, a photographic plate 6 having a transparent part 6a and an opaque part 6b which are entirely opposite to those of the previous photographic plate is made to adhere closely to said photosensitive layer 3, and an exposure and a development processing are executed. As a result, as for the photosensitive layer 3, only the transparent part 6a of the photographic plate 6 is exposed and hardened, and a hardened part and an unhardened part are formed. Thereafter, by forming a polarizing film 8 by an exposure of the polarized light element film by a development and an adsorption of iodine, dyestuff, etc., a polarizing plate (a linearly polarized light film whose polarizing direction is orthogonal) having two polarized light areas can be formed with high accuracy on the same substrate. |
