PURPOSE:To enhance separation efficiency, by providing a tubular cylinder having a large diameter and concentrically inserting a small tubular cylinder having a diameter and length smaller than those of said tubular cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A large-diameter tubular cylinder 4 and a small-diameter tubular cylinder 5 are arranged so that the small diameter-tubular cylinder 5 is concentrically inserted in the large diameter-tubular cylinder 4 and a gap part 8 is formed between the inner peripheral surface 6 of the large-diameter tubular cylinder 4 and the outer peripheral surface 7 of the small-diameter tubular cylinder 5. A sewage inflow port 9 is opened to the gap part 8 and the take-in port 11 of the flow transfer pipe 10 to the next treatment tank is opened in the vicinity of the core part of the small- diameter tubular cylinder 5. Further, a flowing round partition wall provided with the accumulation space part 13 of a precipitate 12 is mounted in a suspended state under the tubular cylinders 4, 5 within an outer tank 14 and the sewage W flowing in the annular gap part 8 is allowed to flow round along the peripheral walls of the tubular cylinders. The falling separation of a solid is performed by the composite action of centrifugal force and gravity and the sewage from which the solid is removed is introduced into the tubular cylinders to be subjected to sedimentation separation.
