The present invention relates to a tap of the so-called "ball-valve" type. In order to ensure sealing between the spool 1 and the part 37 of the key 38 inside this spool 1 there are provided, around the input passage 35 and the output passage 36 of the spool 1, two annular sealing gaskets 60, 61 one or each of which has a sealing lip 73, 75 held in elastic prestress against the said part 37 of the key 38; the shape of the assembly is such that the pressure of the fluid transported or stopped by the tap tends to reinforce the sealed application of the sealing lip 73, 75 against the said part 37 of the key 38. The seals with lips are advantageously produced from a metal or a metal alloy having an elastic modulus lying between approximately 10,000 and approximately 20,000 so as to exhibit resistance to high temperatures. Application particularly to the transportation and stopping of fluid under normally or accidentally high temperature and pressure conditions. <IMAGE>
