PURPOSE:To permit printing on even a tip portion of a paper by a method in which printing is made on the tip portion of next ticket by printer after the completion of printing for one ticket and before cutting the paper of the printed ticket. CONSTITUTION:A rolled paper 1 is set, and the first serial number is printed on 2A. The paper ahead the printed ticket portion is cut for waiting for printing data, and when printing data are given, printing is made on 2B on the basis of printing data for the ticket with the first serial number while line-feeding is effected as needed. After the printing, one (1) is added to the serial number, and the serial number is printed on the next ticket. After the printing, the paper is fed to a cutting position and cut off for waiting for printing data. The processes are repeated thereafter. In issuing previous tickets, a serial number which should be printed necessarily on the tip portion of a ticket is printed before cutting the previous ticket. Therefore, printing can be made even on the tip of paper without making the control of paper transport mechanism complicated.
