PURPOSE:To perform top coat painting without generating color irregularity or off-shade, by using paint having transparency but having no concealing property as the bottom coat applied to the surface of a rock wool board before embossing or groove processing. CONSTITUTION:Bottom coat 2 is applied to the surface of a rock wool board in order to enhance the surface hardness thereof and dried. As the bottom coat 2, a translucent or transparent resin or starch liquid having no pigment compounded therein is used. The rock wool board 1 is passed through the nip of embossed rolls each having projections 11 mounted on the surface thereof to form a cleavage like Fischer pattern 12 to the entire surface of the rock wool board 1. Further, cutting processing is applied to the rock wool board 1 to form stripe or checkered groove parts 4 and top coat 5 is applied to the rock wool board 1 from the surface to the groove parts 4 thereof by spray painting and is dried. Since this top coat 5 is colored paint having a concealing property having pigment compounded therein and the bottom coat 2 has transparency but has no concealing property, a two-layered part has the same painting appearance as a one-layer part.
