PURPOSE:To obtain a wear resistant long life composite roll which is soundly manufactured and generates no crack in build-up welding by power build-up welding an intermediate material having a specific composition on the surface of a base material and powder build-up welding a specific composition alloy as a wear resistant material on the intermediate material. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate material 2 is powder build-up welded to form multiple layers on the surface of a roll base material 3 consisting of a steel and then a wear-o form multiple layers on the material 2. An allow composed of, by wt., 0.8-1.2% C, <=2.0% Si, <=3.0% Ni, 26-32% Cr, <=3.0% Fe, 3.0-6.0% W, and the balance Co with impurity elements is used as the material 2. An alloy composed of, by wt., 2.0-3.0% C, <=2.0% Si, <=3.0% Ni, 26-32% Cr, <=3.0% Fe, 11-14% W, and the balance Co with impurity elements is used as the material 1. Thus, generation of cracks in the build-up welding is prevented and a roll having the remarkably improved service life is supplied. |
