PURPOSE:To enhance the effects of corrosion prevention and antifouling, while unnecessitating maintenance, by applying the coating layer of an insulating material onto the surface of an iron or steel structure, e.g. a ship, to be submerged under the sea water, and forming the spray coating film of copper or a copper alloy thereon. CONSTITUTION:Organic insulating paint such as epoxy resin paint is applied onto the surface of a steel plate 1 to form a coating film 2 of 0.1-10mm. in thickness. Then, copper or a copper alloy such as Cupro-nickel is sprayed thereon to form a spray coating film 3 of about 0.1mm. in thickness. Hence, the antifouling effect of copper or the copper alloy and the corrosion-preventing effect of the insulating material are exhibited over a long period. |
