Rope loops 9-11 anchored to the stubs carry rubber tubes 13 which form ladder treads. Further hand and foot grips 14, (16), (18) are provided to assist entry. The specification sets out optimum dimensions and pressures, and states that the stubs 8 can be inflated either separately or from the interior of hull tube 2 in which case non-return valves are fitted to protect tube 2 against deflation in the event of damage to a stub 8.
