1. Method for controlling an entertainment electronics apparatus (11) wherein the various operating modes of the apparatus (11) are set with a control unit (10) ; wherein operating instructions, are reproduced in the form of on-screen displays on a screen (2) or on a display, the operating instructions being read out from a page memory (28) and presented on the screen (22) or the display by a reproduction control circuit (24), characterized in - that at least part of the keys (4a - 6d) of the control unit (10) are switchable by a selector switch (3a) between a basic function and at least one additional function, - that the operating instructions are combined in groups, the individual groups being each assigned to one of the basic or additional functions of the keys (4a - 6d), - that, when the selector key (3a) is operated, the operating instructions assigned to the thereby selected basic or additional function are presented on the screen (2) of display, and - that the control of the apparatus (11) carried out via the control unit (10) depends, on the one hand, on the basic or additional function selected and the group of operating instructions assigned thereto and, on the other hand, on the key (4a - 6d) operated in each case.
