PURPOSE:To reduce the transfer quantity of data and to efficiently use a communication line by transferring only data of corrected characters or character group, the column position indicating the corrected position, and the data length when a terminal equipment returns corrected data. CONSTITUTION:A terminal equipment 14 checks corrected contents by an editing program 15, and the terminal equipment 14 generates '0' indicating correction of all columns and one-field components of data and transmits them to a microcomputer CP 11 in case of correction of all columns, and the terminal equipment 14 generates the address of the field, the start column position of corrected characters, the number of corrected characters, and data corresponding to the data length and transmits them to the CP 11 in case of correction of a part of columns. In case of receiving transfer data from the terminal equipment 14, an analysis program 12 of the CP 11 determines the data position to be corrected of a file 13 in accordance with the address of field and uses correction data to correct characters or a character group.
