1275237 Bearings SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN GmbH 19 April 1971 [12 Feb 1970] 21788/71 Heading F2A A bearing assembly comprises a shaft 1 journalled in a deep-drawn sheet metal housing 4 by balls 2 adjacent one end and needles 3 adjacent the other, a bush 9 shrunk on the shaft adjacent the needles, and a radial seal 7 running against the external surface of the bush and accommodated in an outwardly and axially extending portion 6 of the housing. The shaft may be hollow with an end piece 34 (Fig. 5), in which case the bush 9 may also be cup-shaped. The bush is of stainless steel, or of plastics with a reinforcing perforated plate. The housing may be formed with a radial flange 30 which is attached to a machine wall 17, a further sealing member 32 being interposed. |
