PURPOSE:To obtain the titled molded article, having excellent heat resistance, flame retardance, etc., and suitable as fireproof materials, etc., by dispersing a water-soluble high polymer which is a solid at ordinary temperature in a aromatic polyamide solution, coagulating the solution, treating the resultant molded article with an aqueous solution and removing the solid substance. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble high polymer, e.g. PVA, etc., which is a solid at ordinary temperature as a solid substance is dispersed in an aromatic polyamide solution to carry out coagulation. The subsequently resultant molded article is treated with an aqueous solution to remove the solid substance therefrom to afford the aimed porous molded article. The blending ratio of the water-soluble high polymer is preferably 2/3-5/1 weight ratio of the aromatic polyamide solution to the water-soluble high polymer.
