PURPOSE:To always secure the accurate actuation of an overcurrent protection function by means of an overcurrent detecting circuit by initializing forcibly the storage of a latching IC which stores the output state of an overcurrent detecting signal when the output voltage of a solar battery is lower than a prescribed lower limit level. CONSTITUTION:If a load current flowing via a transistor (TR) switching element 4 is excessive, the TR 4 is automatically cut off. While the TR 4 is kept turned off to prevent the starting defect, etc., of a motor when the power supply of a solar battery 1 is not set up. Especially the storage contents of a latching IC 17 is kept forcibly under an initialized state when the output of the battery 1 is not set up, i.e., when it is feared that the IC 17 has a malfunction. As a result, an overcurrent detecting signal (low-level signal) is never outputted erroneously to prevent such a case where a load (motor) 2 is not started forever even after the output of the battery 1 is set up.
