PURPOSE:To avoid locking driving wheels, by detecting a speed of each wheel of an automobile-judging the locked status of these driving wheels, and controlling an exhaust brake so as to be released even if an exhaust brake switch is turned on. CONSTITUTION:First, a control unit 7 is so judged that an accelerator switch 2 is on (an exhaust brake may be operated in a state of being not accelerated), and an exhaust brake switch 1 is on (there is a will to operate the exhaust brake). In addition, on the basis of a detection signal out of wheel speed sensors 5, 6, when it judges that driving wheels are going to be locked, or they have been locked in application of an empirical formula as to the speed and reduction rate of each wheel, it emits an off command to a magnetic valve 4 for the exhaust brake. If control takes place like this, even if the exhaust brake switch is turned on, a lock is released at once if these driving wheels are locked.
