PURPOSE:To enable increase in suction air quantity and improve detection responsiveness as well as control responsiveness so as to enable feedback compensation without any hunting, by shortening the sampling period of a speed deviation quantity in the case the atmospheric pressure is lower than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:An engine control unit 9 receives various kinds of control information, and on idling time, it receives a deviation quantity between a real and a predetermined desired engine speed at a preset sampling period, and then it outputs a control pulse signal G, which compensates for the increase/ decrease of suction air quantity according to the input value, to a solenoid valve 8. In the case that the detection signal of an atmospheric pressure sensor 17 is lower than a predetermined value, the sampling period of engine speed deviation quantity as well as the renewied period of its compensation value are shortened, respectively. Therefore, a control gain increase as a whole so as to enable the substantial increase in the suction air quantity, so that both detection responsiveness and control responsiveness are improve, hence enabling feedback compensation with high accuracy without any hunting.
