PURPOSE:To decrease the interference of magnetic head between a data magnetic head and a servo magnetic head by placing the servo magnetic head and the data magnetic head parted from each other sufficiently. CONSTITUTION:At the placing position 7 of data magnetic heads 3, 4, 5, the placing center of the data magnetic heads is on a straight line nearly in parallel with the radial direction 8 of a medium, while the servo magnetic head 2 is placed at the position 6 with a deviation 13 in the circumferential direction 12 on the straight line. Thus, the distance between the servo magnetic head 2 and the data magnetic heads 3, 4, 5 is ensured sufficiently. Then the leaked magnetic field caused by the data magnetic heads 3, 4, 5 at the recording of medium onto the servo magnetic head 2 is decreased and the reliability in the head alignment function of the servo magnetic head 2 is improved.
