PURPOSE:To obtain a laser output of desired, stable time characteristics in the presence of changes in timing in laser medium oscillation or the like by a method wherein a laser exciting means, optical sensing means, reference signal generating means, comparing means, and current regulating means are provided and operated to cause an actually outputted laser beam to follow a laser output reference signal. CONSTITUTION:A laser output reference signal SP is generated by an internal reference output generating circuit 44, when an output PL of a laser beam LB is represented by a regular rectangular waveform precisely corresponding to the laser output reference signal SP though a lamp current IA is represented by a distorted waveform involving time fluctuations. If a shutter 28 should close for some reason, an analog switch 42 is switched over from a terminal 42a to terminal 42b, when a voltage signal VA proportional to the lamp current IA is supplied to the comparing circuit 40 in place of a voltage signal VL. As the result, a feedback group is organized wherein the lamp current IA imitates the reference signal output SP. |
