PURPOSE:To release the internal stress of a raw fabric in roll, by a method wherein, in a gravure printer, before a raw fabric pulled off from the raw fabric in roll is fed to a printing part, the tension thereof is released in a storage part once. CONSTITUTION:A raw fabric 2 is pulled out from a raw fabric in roll 1 by means of a feed roll 4, and is fed to the left end of a storage conveyor 7 as it is swung by means of a swing roll 9. The raw fabric is moved in a state to be folded in a waveform, and after tension is rendered ineffective, the raw fabric is fed to a printing part by means of roll groups 10-13. When the rest of the raw fabric 1 runs out and the raw fabric is replaced with a new one, replacement is effected after rotation of the feed roll 4 is stopped. During replacement, the raw fabric 2 is stocked on the storage conveyor 7 is continuously fed to a printing part by means of the feed roll 12. This constitution eliminates the internal stress of the raw fabric in roll, and enables excellent gravure printing of especially a polythylene film raw fabric.
