In an arrangement for increasing the accessibility of cupboards in a piece of furniture having at least top cupboards (2) and a worktable (3) attached therebelow, preferably a piece of kitchen furniture, the top cupboards (2) and the worktable (3) are mounted so that they can be lifted and lowered together continuously. To grant access to spaces unused despite the adjustability in the height direction, the top cupboards (2) are mounted, in addition, so that they can be continuously lowered and displaced outwards in relation to the worktable (3), thus making it easy also for wheelchair occupants to reach the top cupboards. <IMAGE> |
