PURPOSE:To conduct drive efficiently by mounting an extracting body at a position between the node and antinode of a bent standing wave generated in a vibrator, and selecting a kinetic component in the specific direction of the flexuous standing wave. CONSTITUTION:A unidirectional drive has a vibrator 20 with end sections, the source of vibrations 21 set up at one end of the vibrator 29 and generating standing waves having fixed wavelength lambda, and a contact body (a slider) 24, and is constituted as a linear type ultrasonic motor. The vibrating section of the vibrator 20 has a length integral times as long as 1/2 wavelength at that time; extracting bodies (projecting sections such as projections) 23 are fitted in regions (at every 1/2 wavelength) at every odd time or even time of 1/4 wavelength at positions among the nodes and antinodes of standing waves, and the contact body 24 is brought into contact under pressure. Accordingly, when the standing waves of the vibrator 20 are generated, respective extracting body 32 is vibrated, thus shifting the contact body 24. |
