PURPOSE:To stably connect any type of tube without a step, by a method wherein the end portion of the tube is inserted into a joint portion of an ink path and sealed by pressing an elastic sealing member engaging with the periphery of the tube against the periphery of the tube by using a lock member. CONSTITUTION:After a lock member 4 and an elastic sealing member 3 are set to a tube 2, the end portion of the tube 2 is inserted into a joint member 1 to the bottom of the clearance between the portions 1a and 1b of the joint member 1 and securely fixed by moving the lock member 4. In this manner, the elastic sealing member 3 is pressed by a slant face provided on the inner wall of the lock member 4, whereby the elastic sealing member 3 comes into close contact with the periphery of the tube 2 and the portion 1b for sealing. To prevent the permeation of air, the two-layered tube 2 making use of an ink-resistant polyethylene material 7 for the inner surface thereof and a material 8 with a small air-permeability, such as vinylidene chloride and nylon 6, provided around the material 7 in close contact therewith is engaged with the portion 1a in a press fit state with a slight amount of interference. Therefore, deposit is prevented from mixing into an ink flow path, if any. |
