PURPOSE:To contrive higher image reproduction properties, by providing a plasticizer-containing resin layer between a receiving layer and a base, in a thermal transfer recording sheet comprising the receiving layer, to which a sublimable dye in a coloring material layer of a thermal transfer sheet is transferred to achieve recording according to image information, and the base for supporting the receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A receiving layer is provided on the surface of a base, with a plasticizer-containing resin layer provided therebetween, to obtain a thermal transfer recording sheet. With the plasticizer-containing resin layer thus provided between the base and the receiving layer, it is made possible to contrive a higher image density without impairing preservability of transferred images. Since the resin layer contains a plasticizer, it shows a favorable cushioning property at the time of transferring, and is capable of preventing a vibration or ununiformity in density from being generated upon printing. A resin constituting the plasticizer-containing resin layer may be, for example, a polyester or a thermoplastic resin such as a vinyl chloride resin, a vinyl acetate resin, a styrene resin and an acrylic resin. |
